Getting The Star Treatment

The Sky Deck at Queen’s Wharf Brisbane

A new star has risen at the heart of the multi-billion-dollar Queen’s Wharf precinct. Located in Brisbane’s Central Business District (CBD), adding to Brisbane’s masterfully designed Skyline, The Star Brisbane is Queensland’s newest entertainment and leisure destination complex. Opening its doors on August 29, 2024, this urban resort brings a range of unique entertainment options, dining, sky-high views, entertainment venues and a state-of-the-art Event Centre to the river city.

At the centre of The Star Brisbane sits The Star Grand, a 5-star luxury experience offering a range of 340 rooms and sweeping views of the Brisbane River and South Bank, making it the ideal place to eat, stay and play. After the sun has set, its rounded design lights up the night sky as it sparkles and shines – a stunning vision as seen from across the river, or from the Cat Ferry (stopping at several points across the riverbank for approx. 10 cents CAD).

The complex will offer future developments including a contemporary 4.5-star hotel for business and leisure travellers (Dorsett Brisbane) and Australia’s first 6-star Rosewood hotel.

Isoletto Pool Club

Perched between the resort’s towers, 37 metres above the ground, The Star Brisbane’s Leisure Deck is a 12,000 sqm open-air oasis. Featuring an impressive mixed-use space –  equivalent to more than two football fields of space – the Leisure Deck offers a serene escape amidst the city’s bustle. Both locals and visitors enjoy an array of activations, from live music and DJ sets to an outdoor cinema, lawn games and special events – plus three swimming pools with exceptional views of the river and beyond.

One hundred metres above the river, The Sky Deck is where The Star Brisbane’s signature arc-shaped towers deliver a 250-metre rooftop runway of restaurants and bars. Here you’ll find Aloria Restaurant, where European influence meets Australian charm, casual dining at Babblers and Cicada Blu. Back on the ground level, Sokyo is Brisbane’s newest Japanese culinary experience, and a great breakfast spot to kick start a day of exploring.

The excitement doesn’t stop with Brisbane’s newest casino onsite operating 24/7, offering an open-plan featuring the newest games and food and beverage including Fat Noodle and a huge Sports Bar.

Location, location, location

The Neville Bonner pedestrian bridge crosses over the Brisbane River connecting the CBD to a cultural cornucopia of artistic treasures. Come face to face with the Wheel of Brisbane, an iconic landmark on South Bank, rising 60 metres above ground. To the right, the Brisbane Sign can be found on the southern bank of the Brisbane River, opposite the Queensland Performing Arts Centre (QPAC) – an iconic photo op spot with Brisbane’s Skyline and river in the background. Two riverside galleries, Queensland Art Gallery and Gallery of Modern Art sit 150 metres apart in the Queensland Cultural Centre. Entry is free, but some exhibits and events may require a paid ticket. The camouflage green State Library of Brisbane is also in the cultural precinct and the perfect spot to grab a cup of joe and get lost in the literary world of diverse spaces and exhibits.

The Star Grand is a 12-minute walk from Streets Beach. All rooms are equipped with a seating area. Guests at The Star Grand can enjoy an à la carte or a continental breakfast.
